Volunteering is a great way to be in touch with your community, meet new friends and keep the grey matter going (and ongoing health benefits!).
Volunteers at Mission Beach Visitor Information Centre (MB VIC), also have the added benefit of learning more about our unique area and taking part in extraordinary experiences.
Situated on the Cassowary Coast, we look after all areas from the coast up to the Tablelands. We make sure our visitors are looked after post-arrival. Our aim is to have our visitors extend their stay in our region.

To do this, our volunteers engage, explain and entice!

We currently have 24 active volunteers, and volunteers who come to this area on a regular basis, that come and work with us for short periods of time. Full training and inductions are given, with on the job training opportunities on a regular basis.
Working at MB VIC suits pensioners, grey nomad travelers, New start recipients, students, those that want hand on experience getting back into the work force and those who would like a to know about our tourism industry.
Be warned! We don’t just take everyone on to the volunteer team!  Applicants need to be engaging, have a passion for our area, and not afraid to learn new things (and this can be challenging sometimes!)

The Visitor Centre offers a wide range of souvenirs and informative displays regarding the environment and wildlife in and around Mission Beach. We are lucky to have two World Heritage listed sites on our doorstep – the Wet Tropics Rainforest and the Great Barrier Reef.
We welcome any  Expression of Interest to volunteer at our centre.

The Visitor Information Centre is open Mon – Fri 9am to 4.30pm and Sat- Sun 10am to 2pm.
