Tully Gumboot - Tully Gorge - Alligators Nest - El Arish Tavern - Lacey Creek Walk

Tully Gumboot
Just a 30 minute drive from Mission Beach gets you to one of the wettest towns in Far North Queensland .... "Tully". On your drive into Tully you will discover the biggest gumboot ever and if you like you even get the chance to climb it. It might be a good idea to stop for a nice coffee and something to eat as there are no more shops or cafe's on your way out to Tully Gorge.

Tully Gorge
A good hours drive from Tully will get you to Tully Gorge. Enjoy the beautiful scenery on your way out there and keep your eyes open for all the different wildlife in this area. The walks and lookouts offer spectacular views of the rainforest and river rapids. Relax and enjoy the serene, grassy campground beside the river. Take a stroll along the short, wheelchair-accessible, Butterfly Walk (20 minutes) to learn about some of the food plants of the local butterfly species.

Alligators Nest
Just a short drive out of Tully - follow Murray Falls Road for around 6 kilometres till you get to a T-Junction and turn left. What a beautiful freshwater swimming hole. Refresh yourself and enjoy this safe spot to swim or play. We can assure you 100% there won't be any alligators .....

El Arish Tavern
Follow the old Bruce Highway to El Arish. The El Arish Tavern is located at 38 Chavel Street and is easy to find once you get to the small town. Enjoy a cold beer and you must try "Bingil Bay Rump Steak". This meat is so special that those cattle must be some of the happiest in the world .... Lush green grass all year long, huge fields to graze in and a tropical lifestyle till the very last day.

Lacey Creek Walk
After such a treat we recommend you walk one of our most beautiful rainforest tracks on your way to Mission Beach. Lacey Creek is a circuit track which only takes about 40 minutes. Easy .... stunning World Heritage rainforest and with a little luck you might meet our true locals, the Cassowaries.
